This Certificate and Medal was gifted to Christopher Spencer (1955-2023) in 1983 by the exiled King of Greece, King Constantine, in thanks for setting up a Scout Group for the Greek Community in London.  Christopher was heavily involved in Scouting throughout his life and managed Scout Shops in Worthing, Brighton, London and Oxford.

A translation of the Certificate has been provided by Gonda Van Steen, Director of the Centre for Hellenic Studies at Kings College London.  The certificate says ” The Executive Board of the Scouts of Greece bestow on Christopher Spenser the Medal of Friend of the Scouts” and is signed by members of the Executive Board.  This medal and certificate would also include Honorary Membership of the Scouts of Greece
