This China Thimble is a souvenir from Waddow Hall, a Girlguiding UK run Activity Centre, located just outside of Clitheroe in Lancashire.

A China Money Box aimed to look like a Girl Guide was produced by Hugh Taylor in 1985 as a novelty item, hopefully to encourage young girls within the Association to save to go on Camp or buy other items they wanted!  Possibly given as a competition prize!

This wooden shield has a metal plaque depicting a Girl Guide of the 1970s.  She is standing in front of the Union Flag whilst offering up a laurel wreath.  Above her head is the Girl Guide Motto of “Be Prepared” whilst below her feet is the Girl Guide symbol of the era.  This shield would probably have been meant to be presented as  a Trophy.
